NOTICE TO BOATERS
Don’t know where to dispose of your garbage?
We know it’s a big problem on Raiatea.
We offer passing boats on the island to deposit their household waste and sorted waste in our containers ONLY DURING OPENING HOURS:
From Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 4:30 pm
Friday from 7:30 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 3:30 pm
The garbage must be SORTED as follows:

Plastics: Only water or soda bottles

Glass: Rinsed

Cans: Rinsed – MADE OF METAL

Aluminum cans: MADE OF ALUMINUM
Household waste:
Preferably in a transparent garbage bag
MUST NOT CONTAIN FOOD
Otherwise, the COMCOM will not collect it.
The garbage collection is not free, and as a business, the rate is calculated based on the volume of garbage collected.
Therefore, we ask for a flat fee of 500 XPF for the equivalent of 1 bag of household waste (approximately 50L) and 1 bag for sorting.
We offer this approach to meet the needs of passing boaters on our island and to prevent garbage from ending up even more in the streets, as is already the case.
If we find that sorting is not respected, we will be forced to stop this process.
